The company's first (virtual private network) VPN browser integration was initially launched within its desktop development channel; a few months later, Opera released a unlimited free VPN for Android and for mobile iOS devices.

Looking at the Opera VPN app for Android and iOS, users get some of the standard features available from other VPN solutions: secure browsing, the ability to change IP to a few geographic locations, an ad blocker, a basic network analysis tool that alerts users about risky Wi-Fi hotspots, and encrypted communications, free VPN service, Trusted name in the field, Unblock content you want to see, no log-in required.

Security-conscious Android users can now tap into Opera's free and unlimited data VPN service, which blocks ad-tracking cookies and tests wireless network security, among other things.

Users can change their virtual location by connecting to one of five regions the US, Canada, Germany, Singapore, or the Netherlands and borrowing an IP address from that area.
